Polite request: please refrain from wearing stiletto or pointed-heel shoes inside the house — we have previously encountered damage to our flooring.

10:00 am on day of departure.
Return thermostat to 15°C.
Although we have parking for one car at the rear of the property, we suggest using the small car park opposite the cottage on arrival, especially after dark. Once you have got your bearings feel free to park on the rear drive to unload your belongings.
The key safe is on the rear-most part of the building. The code will be sent to you prior to your arrival and will be updated periodically (but not during your stay). We have movement-detector lighting at the rear of the cottage, but it would be a good idea to bring a torch — just in case.
You set the code on the numbered thumb wheels then pull the black lever next to the number and the key safe will open.
When you have retrieved the keys, close the key safe and scramble the code.
We will be providing keys for both the front and rear doors, but we would prefer if you used the rear door, which takes you through the kitchen.
Back to contentsUpon arrival we provide a few little gifts for you to help you settle in on the first night.
Back to contentsWe have a travel a cot, high-chair and baby bath that are available on request. The cottage also has quite a steep staircase, so please monitor your children when using the stairs.
Back to contentsFeel free to use the washing machine integrated in the kitchen. Washing line is attached to the garage and pegs are under the kitchen sink.
If young children have accidents in their beds, please contact us for fresh bedding.
Back to contentsThe heating will be programmed to be on between 7 am – 10 am and 4 pm – 11 pm in the winter season. You will be able to regulate the temperature to suit your comfort level using the thermostat in the dining room.
Hot water will be available at any time during your stay.
Back to contentsWe do have a cleaning charge, but we still expect you to treat the house with respect. Our cleaning charge is to cover returning the property to the same standard you entered the property in, so please keep it in a tidy state.
We actively encourage you to use the dishwasher — we will supply you with enough tablets to cover the duration of your stay.
Back to contentsThe cottage has a double oven which is configured as one large oven with a smaller one on top — which also has a grill function. All oven trays are covered in aluminium foil to keep things clean and are changed on every changeover.
There is also a microwave.
The kitchen is equipped with enough cutlery, crockery and glassware for twice the number of booked guests, so you can cover two meals a day without the need for dishwashing.
We have a selection of cooking utensils, saucepans, a frying pan and a couple of baking sheets.
If you have any special requests for holidays like Christmas or Easter, please send us a message and we will try to cater with extra equipment.
Back to contentsAny missing items will be chargeable and will also result in bad guest reviews.
Back to contentsYour checkout time will be 10 am on the day of your departure. Our cleaners will be arriving around this time so please plan to depart at this time. We have two simple requirements:
Feel free to water any of the plants in our garden during your stay.
Back to contentsIf your stay overlaps a Thursday night, it will help us greatly if you could pull the relevant bin to the end of the drive. Due to the complexity of the collection system, we will notify you of which bin to action on the week of your stay.
The sections below explain what goes in each bin — please use them as a quick reference.
